- The national flower of Paraguay is the mburucuya, shown on the left.
- Other flowers include: the tajy, the lapacho, the yvyrayu, the palo santo, and the carova
- Paraguay also has over 40 protected wildlife reserves
Animals - Fauna
- Paraguay as a wide variety of animals and nature reserves in its area not commonly found elsewhere
- National bird is the Bare-throated bellbird, shown on the left
- Other animals such as: the yaguarete, the mboi yagua, the capybara, the cayman, and the Chilean Coot.
Weather and Climate
- Subtropical to Temperate
- Lots of rainfall in the eastern portions
- Semiarid in the far west
- Summers are long, with temperatures that reach 105 degrees on peak days
- Winters are mild and short, albeit in the months of July and August, some days the temperature can dip down to 0 degrees centigrade.
